God has challenged us to believe that this will be a year of experiencing his favor (Luke 4:19), and hereby breaking through to new levels of aliveness

One area where many of us are praying for breakthrough is in our families. Our culture has experienced a tragic, unprecedented breakdown of the family unit in the last fifty years. Strong anti-family forces, spiritually rooted in hell itself, are working to disintegrate our households.
Take television for instance. The New York Post film critic Michael Medved points out that by age 6, the average American child will have spent more time watching TV, videotapes, and motion pictures than a child will have spent talking with his father in his entire lifetime. Hollywood is shaping the next generation of young people, and that generation could be a moral Frankenstein.
We need Gore-Tex families that both shield and breathe. We need families that are safe and dangerous. (Safe places where we learn to live dangerously for God).
Thousands of families in Oregon and Idaho are literally on the brink of breakdown. I believe those same families are, by the power of God’s Spirit, on the brink of a potential breakthrough that will turn this region right side up for Jesus Christ, one home at a time.
